Monday, December 3 - Update
It has now been nearly two weeks since my last treatment, the first of this 12 treatment series that I must endure. My next, the second treatment is scheduled for this Wednesday morning, December 5, at 9 AM.
I am actually feeling pretty good right now. I seem to have much of my previous energy throughout the day. I am feeling no nausea and have a strong appetite...smile. But I know that this next session will knock me down once again, and I expect to be feeling poorly for several days to a week afterward.
We do appreciate your continued prayers on our behalf, that this trial will have it good result in God's purposes, moving us along in His purpose and design of our continued sanctification.

Sanctification is a good Biblical word. In its verbal form it means "to make holy". Christians, all true Christians, are referred to in Scripture as "saints" or "holy ones". And as the Baptist catechism states -
Q.39, What is sanctification?
A. Sanctification is a work of God's free grace whereby we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God, and are enabled more and more to die unto sin and live unto righteousness.
That is, we progressively become more holy. Sanctification is an ongoing work of God in the heart/life of every true Christian, and continues during the whole duration of this life. If we are not "making progress in godliness" then we have good cause to question the genuineness of our profession of faith in Christ.

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."
- 1Peter 1:14 -16

But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
- 2Thessalonians 2:13

And each Christian is to understand that God, our great king and sovereign over all His creation, wonderfully and mysteriously orchestrates the blessings and trials of this life to move us along in that process. As the apostle Paul states, the believer's confidence is that All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
And so we face this next session of chemotherapy, knowing that in God's mysterious purposes for our lives right now, this is for our ultimate good. And we pray that He will give us a cheerful and thankful spirit, and accomplish His good purposes through this.
